The development of energy relations between Bulgaria and Canada has been discussed at a meeting in the Energy Ministry
The development of the relations in the field of energy between Bulgaria and Canada was a main topic in the discussion between Deputy Energy Minister Nikolay Nikolov and Ambassador of Canada to Bulgaria, based in Bucharest, H. E. Gavin Buchan. The meeting took place in the building of the Ministry of Energy, with the participation of Anton Ivanov, adviser in the political cabinet, and experts from the International Directorate.
Deputy Minister Nikolov presented the main priorities that the Ministry's team is facing relating to the energy policy and sector development strategy. The meeting confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries, highlighting the potential for deepening the cooperation in nuclear energy and renewable technologies.
The challenges of the energy transition, diversification of energy supply and security of access to energy resources were also in the focus of the talks.
Deputy Minister Nikolov and Ambassador Buchan shared a common understanding of the need to intensify the bilateral dialogue and exploit the existing potential for cooperation in a number of areas of shared interest.
