MSc in Physics from Faculty of Physics, Sofia University, Bulgaria with specializations in Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia, Institute for Transuranium Elements, Karlsruhe, Germany and Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, Sofia, Bulgaria, developing computer models of nuclear fuel structural evolution.
Holds PGD in Banking, Diploma from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria. Strong experience in corporate finance and investments modelling.
Until his appointment as a Minister of Energy:
Since March 2003 part of Holding Zagora ,being Director Strategy and Planning and since 2011 – Economic Director.
Since October 2012 Chairman of Board of Directors of Asarel-Investment - Strategy development and Investments. Since November 2017 member of Management board of Asarel-Medet.
Since March 2005 Vice-Chairman, Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association - responsible for Strategy development and Investment policies, Innovations policy and International relations.
Co-founder of Bulgarian National Corporate Governance Commission in September 2009 and elected as the first Chairman.
Board of trustees Member, Bulgarian Academy of Science (June 2011 – Dec. 2015) and since June 2019.
Since November 2018 Vice-Chairman of Bulgarian Hydrogen, Fuel Cell and Energy Storage Association.
Since February 2006 Member, National Innovations Committee.
Author of Methodologies, Positions and Expert Reports ordered by Bulgarian public authorities, such as Council of Ministers, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Ministry of Education, Privatisation Agency, Financial Supervision Commission, Economic and Social Council, etc. Speaker at many national and international forums in the field of corporate governance, innovations & technologies, hydrogen technologies, energy.
